Minor Surgery

Minor Surgery?

Minor surgery covers procedures that require local anaesthetic, rather than more major operations that require a general anaesthetic.  Minor surgery procedures can be performed in my surgery whereas major operations requiring general anaesthetic need to be performed in a hospital.

Common minor surgery procedures include things like ingrown nails, removing moles or skin lesions, ganglions, cysts and skin tumours.

What else?

What other complaints can be treated with minor surgery?

Minor surgery also covers injecting joints and tendons with steroids to treat chronic pain from arthritis, and strains of tendons and ligaments following injury.

What happens in a minor surgery procedure?

For things like ingrown nails, removing moles or skin lesions, ganglions, cysts and skin tumours I use special suturing techniques to achieve excellent cosmetic results.

Costs

Cost is dependent on the procedure itself and materials used.  Somewhere between $150 - $300 is usual.

Costs for injecting joints and tendons range from $80 upwards, depending on the site involved.
